Palace on Wheels Tours
Set for a royal sojourn, Palace on Wheels came into existence in the year 1982. The idea was to provide a lavish means of travelling. The first luxury train in India, Palace on Wheels took influences from the erstwhile rulers of the princely state of Rajasthan and named its luxurious coaches affluently. These aesthetically decorated saloons are ultimate cocoons of comfort and splendour. The Palace on Wheels maintains an imperial style and dcor. The train and its facilities are synonymous with the epitome of luxury. An attendant or 'Khidmatgar' is always available at your service, to take care of all your travel needs. At every halt your evening is planned with cultural programs like Ghoomar, Panihari, Gorbandh, Ghair, Kaalebelia, Chung, Agnl Nritya or puppet shows. You will surely be enchanted by the famous folk songs Moomal, Baramasa and Gorbandh. The journey on the train takes one into the heart of Indian historical landscape.

Destination Covered : New Delhi - Jaipur - Sawai Madhopur - Udaipur - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur - Bharatpur - Agra.
Day 01 : New Delhi
The journey begins at Delhi Cantonment station. Visit India Gate, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb and more in Delhi.
Day 02 : Jaipur
Arrival at Jaipur. Visit Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, City Palace, Jantar Mantar & shop at Rajasthan Govt. Emporium. Depart from Jaipur at 06.30 pm.
Day 03 : Sawai Madhopur & Chittaurgarh
Disembark Palace on Wheels at Sawai Madhopur. Visit Ranthambore National Park. Lunch on board. Reach Chittaurgarh next. Explore Chittaurgarh Fort & return to the train.
Day 04 : Udaipur
Reach Udaipur early in the morning. Proceed for a city tour and visit Jag Niwas, Jag Mandir, Lake Pichola & City Palace Complex. Visit Crystal Gallery in the evening. Overnight journey to Jaisalmer.
Day 05 : Jaisalmer
Visit Patwon-ki-haveli, Nathmalji-ki-haveli, Salim Singh-ki-haveli in Jaisalmer. Shop at government Rajasthan emporium. Set on camel safari at Sam Sand dunes in the evening and enjoy cultural performances. O/N to Jodhpur.
Day 06 : Jodhpur
Visit Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada & shop for traditional handcrafted articles. Lunch is served at a royal palace hotel followed by drive back to Palace on Wheels.
Day 07 : Bharatpur - Agra
Enjoy a game safari in Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Drive to Agra next.
Day 08 : Agra Departure
First visit Fatehpur Sikri. Post lunch drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Agra Fort and Taj Mahal. Dinner is served on board and a relaxed overnight journey will end back at Safdarjung Railway Station New Delhi at 06.00 hrs.
