How to Reach
- Air: Srinagar and Leh has airports operating flights to all the major cities.
- Rail:The last stop on the railway line north is Udhampur, where bus and taxi service is available. You can also get down in Jammu and catch taxi from there.
- Road:You can travel into the state by road via Jammu and up to Srinagar or via Manali in Himachal Pradesh and up to Leh.
Best Time to Visit
Different seasons offer you different flavors of tourism in the mesmerizing region.- In mid-March and April, you can enjoy the colorful flower season.
- In May and June, you find fruit trees loaded with several hued sheets of flowers covering the plains and hill slopes.
- The best time for swimming, sun-bathing, surf-riding and trekking is the months of June and July. For fishing trout and mahseer in ice-cold mountain streams, the best time is August and September.
- In September and October, several big and small games are held. The season for winter sports in Gulmarg is December to February.

- Ladakh (Leh) : Ladakh (Leh), the largest district in Indian administered state of Jammu and Kashmir, is lying between the Kunlun mountain range in the north and the main Great Himalayas to the south. The place is inhabited by people of Indo-Aryan and Tibetan descent.
- Srinagar : Srinagar, the summer capital of the Indian administered state of Jammu and Kashmir, is situated in the Kashmir Valley, lying on the banks of the River Jhelum, a tributary of the Indus. The city is popular for its gardens, lakes and houseboats as well as for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts and dry fruits.
